THE LEVITON DIMMER MODULE MODEL 166-362 WAS ORIGINALLY MANUFACTURED BY COLORTRAN (OR LEE COLORTRAN), AND THEN BOUGHT OUT BY NSI CORPORATION AND THEN FINALLY BY LEVITON.
The original manufacturer of the Leviton Dimmer Module Model 166-362 was Colortran Lighting, which was based in Burbank, CA. During this time period Colortran was known as Colortran, LEE-Colortran, and even Panavision-Colortran. The Colortran Brand was purchased by the NSI Corporation in Tualatin, OR, which produced both the Colortran Model (ENR) and the NSI Model (Topaz). Both of these models are the same system. Leviton Manufacturing purchased NSI-Colortran Lighting and absorbed the company many years ago, but was still based in Tualatin, OR. Your dimmer module may even say “NSI-Colortran Division” (of Leviton) depending on the age of the unit. Leviton has continued to support the Leviton Dimmer Module Model 166-362 through 2016. The Leviton Dimmer Module Model 166-362 is no longer manufactured new, but can be refurbished by authorized service agencies, such as Knight Sound & Lighting (www.goknight.com).
